How does a composting toilet work?

The inner workings of a composting toilet essentially consist of three parts: separator, urine canister and solids container. The separator leads the urine into the canister, while the solids end up in a bucket with a compost bag. More about the function of a composting toilet

What should I pay attention to when using it?

Why does a composting toilet not smell?

Odors are caused by the mixing of solids and liquids. Separating the excreta and then drying the solids prevents undesirable aromas. More about the odor neutrality of a composting toilet

When do I need a fan?

A fan counteracts condensation, accelerates the drying process of the solids and ensures that fragrances quickly dissolve into thin air. This makes it particularly suitable for long emptying cycles or if your Trelino® is used by several people. Due to its compact dimensions and short emptying cycles, the Trelino® S does not need a fan.

What happens when I have diarrhea?

Diarrhea is not a problem when using a composting toilet. Just use more litter to compensate for the liquid.

Where do I dispose of the contents?

Urine can easily be disposed of in a toilet connected to the sewer system. Diluted, it is also suitable as fertilizer for the home garden or the raised bed on the balcony. The bag with the solids is a case for the residual waste garbage can. Conditionally, composting is also possible. The urine canister and solids container can be emptied independently of each other.

Trelino Timber L - immer wieder

Wir sind sehr zufrieden und bereuen den Kauf der TT garnicht, wir hätten es schon früher machen sollen. Unsere Bedenken die wir vor dem Kauf hatten bzgl. Geruch, die haben sich nicht bestätigt. Wir haben unsere SOG bis jetzt nicht angeschlossen und werden es vermutlich auch nicht. Jetzt nutzen wir endlich die Toilette auch für große Geschäfte was wir vorher auf der Chemietoilette nicht gemacht haben zwecks der für uns „blöden“ Reinigung danach. Jetzt ist alles easy. Unser Wasserverbrauch ist auch weniger dadurch geworden. Und sie sieht super aus vom Design. Fazit: Wir würden die Timber L immer wieder kaufen und können sie allen nur empfehlen - keine Scheu vor dem Geruch denn es gibt ihn nicht beim Deckel hochklappen 😉.

Nach einigen kleinen Verbesserungen jetzt für uns optimal

Ich habe die Trelino für uns noch optimiert. In den Holzdeckel habe ich einen Neodymmagnet eingelassen sodas der hochgeklappte Deckel an einer Metallscheibe an der Wand haften bleibt. Weiter habe ich das innere des Toilettengehäuses zur Hälfte mit einer elastischen Gummifarbe gestrichen damit evtl. austretende Flüssigkeit nicht ins Holz einziehen kann. Schließlich habe ich noch den Urinbehälter mit einem Schwimmerschalter aus Plastik ausgestattet sodas mir nun ein zu 3/4 gefüllter Behälter über eine LED Anzeige signalisiert wird. Mit der Benutzung unserer Trelino sind wir nun sehr zufrieden und würden sie nie mehr gegen die vorher im Wohnmobil verbaute Thetford Toilette tauschen wollen.
