How does a composting toilet work?

The inner workings of a composting toilet essentially consist of three parts: separator, urine canister and solids container. The separator leads the urine into the canister, while the solids end up in a bucket with a compost bag. More about the function of a composting toilet

What should I pay attention to when using it?

The correct sitting position is crucial for the best possible function of a composting toilet. For anatomical reasons, this differs for women and men. Further information on the seat position

Why does a composting toilet not smell?

Odors are caused by the mixing of solids and liquids. Separating the excreta and then drying the solids prevents undesirable aromas. More about the odor neutrality of a composting toilet

When do I need a fan?

A fan counteracts condensation, accelerates the drying process of the solids and ensures that fragrances quickly dissolve into thin air. This makes it particularly suitable for long emptying cycles or if your Trelino® is used by several people. Due to its compact dimensions and short emptying cycles, the Trelino® S does not need a fan.

What happens when I have diarrhea?

Diarrhea is not a problem when using a composting toilet. Just use more litter to compensate for the liquid.

Where do I dispose of the contents?

Urine can easily be disposed of in a toilet connected to the sewer system. Diluted, it is also suitable as fertilizer for the home garden or the raised bed on the balcony. The bag with the solids is a case for the residual waste garbage can. Conditionally, composting is also possible. The urine canister and solids container can be emptied independently of each other.

Dennoch: Bei dem hohen Preis erwartet man Perfektion. Für eine volle Punktzahl fehlen mir:
Griffvertiefungen. Man muss beim Tragen sehr aufpassen, dass sie einem nicht aus den Händen gleitet.
Eine bessere Oberflächenversiegelung: Feuchtigkeit dringt trotz geölter Oberflächen ins Holz ein.
Ein Feinschliff der Holzoberflächen innen und an der Toilettenbrille. Feuchtigkeit, Exkremente und rauhe Holzoberflächen passen für mich nicht zusammen.
Der Flüssigkeitscontainer ist hübsch gestaltet. Er sollte zur Öffnung hin trichterförmig auslaufen, damit man ihn besser restlos entleeren kann.

Fast perfekte Trenntoilette

Wir haben sie gekauft um mit einem Vito unterwegs zu sein. Ich habe sie zu Hause getestet und bin trotz erster Bedenken, hoch erfreut über die Funktionalität.
Sieht zudem sehr wertig aus. Es fehlt uns an einer Möglichkeit die Toilette zu tragen und unterm Bett vor zu ziehen. Ein oder zwei Griffe in Form von Riemengurte wären super. Man kann sie ohne leider nicht richtig fassen, da glatte Fronten und relativ schwer.
Zudem muss ich mich manchem Vorschreiber anschließen, dass die Behältnisse etwas besser von der Qualität sein könnten. Warum kein Edelstahleimer? Der Urinkanister lässt sich unpraktisch ausschütten. Er müsste in der Mitte beim Deckel etwas erhöht sein , damit die Flüssigkeit beim Ausleeren ohne Probleme abfließen könnte.
Es läuft etwas unkontrolliert heraus und muss dabei geschwenkt werden.
Bei diesem Preis könnte man diese Kleinigkeiten verbessern und dann wäre sie perfekt.
