How does a composting toilet work?

The separation insert directs urine into a canister, while solid waste is collected in a separate container. For easier disposal, this container needs to be equipped with a trash bag. More about the function of a composting toilet
Why does a composting toilet not smell?

Odors are caused by the mixing of solids and liquids. Separating the excreta and then drying the solids prevents undesirable aromas. More about the odor neutrality of a composting toilet
What should I pay attention to when using it?

The correct sitting position is crucial for the best possible function of a composting toilet. For anatomical reasons, this differs for women and men. Further information on the seat position
When do I need a fan?
A fan counteracts condensation, accelerates the drying process of the solids and ensures that fragrances quickly dissolve into thin air. This makes it particularly suitable for long emptying cycles or if your Trelino® is used by several people. Due to its compact dimensions and short emptying cycles, the Trelino® S does not need a fan.
How do I clean a composting toilet?
Cleaning a composting toilet is as simple as its use. The household remedy diluted citric acid has proven its worth. Tips for cleaning can be found here
What happens when I have diarrhea?
Diarrhea is not a problem when using a composting toilet. Just use more litter to compensate for the liquid.
Where do I dispose of the contents?
Urine can easily be disposed of in a toilet connected to the sewer system. Diluted, it is also suitable as fertilizer for the home garden or the raised bed on the balcony. The bag with the solids is a case for the residual waste garbage can. Conditionally, composting is also possible. The urine canister and solids container can be emptied independently of each other.
Plastic bags and composting - how do they fit together?
For us, sustainability and environmental awareness don't end with disposal - we think beyond the garbage can. Our solid bags are made from 100% post-consumer recycled material (LDPE). This makes them a top-notch recycled product whose carbon footprint is significantly lower than that of standard bags made from virgin material. Alternatively, we also offer you solid bags made from renewable, organic materials that can be easily composted.

Great product, great customer service

I really struggled to get hold of this - they use Evri to deliver in the UK, who lost it repeatedly and eventually returned it without attempting to deliver. However, during this whole time, Trelino were extremely helpful and responsive, trying numerous solutions. Eventually I collected it myself, and they had one ready and waiting for me, and opened the office to allow me to collect it. It works really well, no smell, very solidly built and comes with clear emptying and cleaning instructions. Fantastic product, fantastic team. Caroline was especially helpful.

Hi there, the trelino does the job perfectly but that much money for a computermilled plasticbox is redicolous!

Game changer

We use our Origin M • Composting toilet as a loo , step, seat and foot rest ! Game changer as it’s not smelly like a chemical loo, and wayyyy easier to dispose of poop & pee without needing to find a chemical disposal site

Good Toilet

I tink this is a good toilet. The one improvement I plan to add is a way to empty the urine bottle through one of the top corners so that it is easier to pour.

Tank

Der Tank war bei Trelino s stabiler und ohne Schweißnaht. Da wird er als erstes eine Schwachstelle haben. Man muss den Eimer rausnehmen wenn man den Tank entfernen will. Verarbeitung des Kastens war bei trelino s gefühlt „wertiger“. Preis echt zu hoch.

Ein Wunsch ging in Erfüllung!

Viele Jahre träumte ich von einer praktischen, gut zu reinigenden Trocketrenntoilette. Sie soll bequem und das Entleeren so angenehm wie möglich sein. Nun leben wir zu zweit in einem Van und haben uns für die Trelino Origin M entschieden. Zusätzlich haben wir uns den Lüfter gegönnt. Was für eine Toilette! Sie steht bei uns in der Dusche, welche zur Zeit noch im Bau ist, und wir riechen absolut NICHTS! Den Urinbehälter entleeren wir alle 2 Tage, reinigen Aufsatz und Behälter mit Essigwasser, etwas Essigwasser in den frischen Behälter und zack, frische Toilette. Den Feststoffbehältersack wechseln wir so nach 3-4 grossen Geschäften, welche wir mit Holzspänen bedecken. Angenehme Geschichte! Es fühlt sich alles sehr sauber an, wir sitzen gut auf der Toilette und unsere Vorstellung wurde definitiv übertroffen. Danke für dieses tolle Produkt!
