For us, sustainability and environmental awareness don't end with disposal - we think beyond the garbage can. Our solid bags are made from 100% post-consumer recycled material (LDPE). This makes them a top-notch recycled product whose carbon footprint is significantly lower than that of standard bags made from virgin material. Alternatively, we also offer you solid bags made from renewable, organic materials that can be easily composted.

To achieve the best possible results when using a separating toilet, you should sit down and adjust your seating position if necessary. For anatomical reasons, this position may differ for women and men. Further information on the seat position.

There are many different types of litter. We recommend the Premium litter “Duftblocker”, which was specially developed for composting toilets and works very well. Take a look at the customer reviews 🤩.
Other litters available in our shop include composting toilet litter made from softwood fiber granulate and coconut bricks.
There are numerous other alternatives that our customers use. Everyone has their own preferences here.

A fan counteracts condensation, accelerates the drying process of the solids and ensures that fragrances quickly dissolve into thin air. This makes it particularly suitable for long emptying cycles or if your Trelino® is used by several people. Due to its compact dimensions and short emptying cycles, the Trelino® S does not need a fan.

Diarrhea is not a problem when using a composting toilet. Just use more litter to compensate for the liquid.

Urine can easily be disposed of in a toilet connected to the sewer system. Diluted, it is also suitable as fertilizer for the home garden or the raised bed on the balcony. The bag with the solids is a case for the residual waste garbage can. Conditionally, composting is also possible. The urine canister and solids container can be emptied independently of each other.

If you use conventional wet wipes, these must not be placed in the solids container due to the wetting effect and you must dispose of them separately. However, to enable you to feel clean downstairs even with a separation toilet, we offer a sustainable foam alternative that can be conveniently used on any toilet paper and added to the solids bin. Look here

Sanitary products should be disposed of separately, as the products do not degrade themselves and they could rewet the dried solids.

Cleaning a composting toilet is just as easy as using it. Use Holy Shine Bio Active Cleaner with effective microorganisms to clean your Trelino® gently and sustainably.

Liquid Fresh, the urine canister additive from Trelino®, is added to the urine canister before using the separation toilet and remains there until emptying. This special urine canister additive with Enzymes prevents urine scale deposits and gives off a pleasant scent. This puts an end to unpleasant odours. Shake the container slightly before emptying.

Conventional cleaning
The urine canister should be rinsed out with table vinegar or citric acid (can also be used diluted) after every, every second emptying. To do this, allow the table vinegar or citric acid to act for a while and shake. This will loosen any deposits.

Please clean the solid's container regularly. The Trelino® Holy Shine cleaner with effective microorganisms is very well suited for this purpose. You can also use other mild cleaners or effective microorganisms.
Spray the solid's container with it, close it for a certain amount of time, and let the effective microorganisms take effect.

You can clean your composting toilet with Holy Shine cleaner with effective Microorganisms. They remove all urine residues and odours from your composting toilet.
For wooden composting toilets, you can leave effective microorganisms to work in the absence of air. For example, you can simply put the containers back on top and let the EMs work overnight. Afterwards, make sure that the composting toilet dries out well before you use it again.

Solid bucket
The solids tank of your composting toilet will smell if the waste cannot dry well. Therefore, drying must be optimized. Try using either more litter or different litter. With this you can already achieve significant differences. However, to significantly improve the air circulation, the use of a fan would be recommended. This transports the moist warm air outside, so that everything can dry well.

Urine canister
If you notice an odour coming from the urine canister, it is probably urine scale. The use of table vinegar, which you can leave to soak in for a longer period of time, will remove the deposits. Sometimes a stubborn deposit requires several applications. In the future, prevent urine scale by filling the urine canister with a little vinegar or lemon solution after every, or at the latest after every second, emptying of the urine. Let the solution soak in and shake vigorously once so that all deposits can dissolve.

Even simpler and particularly effective is the use of Trelino® Liquid Fresh. This biological urine canister additive is poured directly into the canister, where enzymes immediately take effect – completely eliminating the need for rinsing with vinegar or citric acid. In addition, the subtle, fresh scent ensures a pleasant experience when using your Trelino®.

A further note: the membrane is a typical wear part that may also start to absorb odours over time. We recommend replacing it every 3–4 months to ensure lasting freshness and hygiene.

Please make sure that you ventilate your wood separation toilet regularly to prevent moisture from accumulating in it. Wood as a natural material can react to persistent humidity. If urine or water does get into it, make sure it dries out before using it again. Effective microorganisms can also be used to treat urine spills.

We recommend leaving the separation toilet open when not in use for a longer period of time, so that moist air cannot accumulate in it. Persistent moisture, even in the form of humidity, can lead to mold over time.
